Technical marketing is all about creating collateral, content, training, demo designs etc. to make it easier for our customers and our field team to use our products. You have to be able to look at the products from customer’s perspective. The job is exciting because we see a lot of different types of customers and applications and we get to see just how our great products are being used. The better we are at our jobs, the easier it is to use our products, which means lower support burden and our customers can go to production more quickly.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience and possesses an in-depth understanding of x86 CPU architecture, debuggers, and system requirements
- In-depth understanding of hardware design, schematics, and related analysis
- Board bring-up experience and related debug activities, including investigating at hardware level
- Experience with UEFI, BIOS and bootloaders
- Knowledge of industry standard IO interfaces and storage – DDR4/5, PCIe Gen3/4/5, 1/2.5/10G Ethernet
- Desire to be hands-on with tools required for hardware design and low-level software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; proven ability in writing application notes, white papers & customer presentations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a collaborative team across multiple geographies to creatively solve challenging problems
- Self-sufficient in board design concepts and methods, coding, and debugging
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with engineering, marketing, customers, FAEs and sales to deliver timely solutions
Responsibilities
- Help define and create customer demos or example designs
- Help support customers on x86 based processing systems
- Help investigate issues related to board bring-up and hardware design
- Review board design guides, schematics, and functional design
- Review hardware design and low-level firmware for system design and issues
- Resolve customer issues on protocols like PCIe, USB, SATA, Ethernet etc.
- Strong programming skills and understanding of Python, Perl, C/C++, and assembly language
- Document best design practices for internal stakeholders and public users
- Develop training and marketing material for FAEs
